My friend collects nests
and her collections never cease to inspire my brush.

After gazing at these treasures
in the midst of winter,
I knew I had to paint the promise
of Springtime,
of new life,
of hope.

The sun is shining warm and bright.

These finny fellows are just hanging, suspended in the water ,

listening,

enjoying the warmth,

sending their own brand of gratitude

skyward.

There are more swimmers in my studio

these days.

They are promising me

sunlight

springtime

and gratitude

for

water, air

and color.

I am currently dividing my time between

watercolor and oils.

Painting butterflies for

my July workshop at

the Missouri Butterfly House

which will be a watercolor  class.

While I am letting colors flow downstairs,

I retreat upstairs to my little studio

and my beloved oils.
